Austin Turtle chose a pace himself.
Aralynn Fox came down one side;
Aydin and Haylee took two paths wide.

No group line formed. At windmill path,
the water-marked deck showed an ending graph—
a loop, a bend, a tiny switchback flare;
they saw the finish first from the lookout there.

Austin gave one quiet beat: tok.
Aralynn answered with a wide hand-rock.
Aydin gave one louder beat: TAP.
Haylee answered with a finger-snap shape, not a clap.

Then Haylee made a hush-soft pip.
Austin answered with a long hand dip.
Aralynn called one bright HO!
Aydin drew a small circle, calm and slow.

They reached the ending marks before they knew
which first wet arrow made the route come through.
Austin pointed backward by mistake—
and everyone saw the opening cue it could make.

Backward became “begin from here.”
No teasing voice, no laughing sneer.
They followed the water marks, one by one,
toward firefly switchback when the solos were done.

At every mark, one beat stood alone;
a different gesture answered, never its clone.
The five-minute sprinkle darkened the track;
barely moving air left each wet edge intact.

From ground level, curves hid in grass and stone.
From above, the joined route could be known:
windmill path to firefly switchback, complete—
a patient pattern born from the mistaken beat.
