Patchwork Gesture Deck at the Dahl Seed Room
The deck’s patches make three sounds: clap, tap, hush. Each round loses one sound. Lillian’s slow sweep becomes the timekeeper, and the silent patch becomes a place where anyone may move their choice later.
Rhyme
Two ways met at pumpkin ground.
No line formed. They shared the sound.
At Dahl seed room, the deck held grain.
“A tray!” said Lex. “A game!” came again.
Clap went Alice. Tap went Fox.
Lillian hushed the patchwork box.
Clap, tap, hush—three sounds today.
One sound leaves each time we play.
Tap, hush—two sounds stay.
Lillian’s slow hand showed the way.
Hush—one sound, soft and small.
Then no sound came. They watched it all.
Before quilt lawn, they turned around.
Back to the seed room, safe and sound.
Three patches made a choice board bright:
yes, not yet, or change it right.
One empty patch stayed open and clear.
A changed mind could still fit here.
