The marker asks, “What shape follows the sounds?” The rhythm begins tap, brush, hush, then loses one sound each round. When Alice’s helpful held shadow blocks Aleea’s view, the group adds a pause before the next sound.
Rhyme
Three sounds waited by the stage:
tap, brush, hush on the marker page.
Once round mailbox bend went four.
No sound had to hurry more.
At quilt lawn, pairs crossed through:
Brandon with Alice; Emmitt with Aleea too.
Alice held a shadow high.
It blocked Aleea’s watching eye.
“Pause first,” Emmitt made the rule.
No one was the joke at all.
Tap, brush, hush—three sounds play.
Brush, hush—one sound goes away.
Hush—one sound, soft and small.
Back at the stage, they heard it all.
Tap— then one drop left the crate:
plip filled the pause. The rhythm could wait.
