The Answer-Keeper

The first plan had two parts, but only one could stay:
A picture-window clue, not a trip down the way.
Alice held the floating stamp above one waiting palm;
Quiet-bench grove kept every guess unhurried and calm.

Alice pressed one picture: a blade and a bend.
Call: “Does windmill path begin—or does it end?”
Callen: “It begins.”
Aralynn: “It turns.”
Lillian: “I am not ready. Let the picture wait and learn.”

The stamp passed to Callen. A wheel-shadow showed.
Call: “Is that the windmill—or a round seed on the road?”
Alice: “A wheel.”
Aralynn: “A seed.”
Lillian: “Both answers fit the clue we can read.”

Callen passed it to Aralynn. A ribbon shape shone.
Call: “Is that narrow path shared, or meant for one alone?”
Alice: “Shared.”
Callen: “One.”
Lillian: “My answer changed: leave room for either one.”

An extra blank pad rested under the stamp,
Brought for pretend bridge alcove—not a visit or camp.
“We never gave it a job,” Aralynn said.
Lillian answered, “Let changed answers land here instead.”

The stamp passed to Lillian. She pressed no fixed sign.
She placed the blank pad beside every picture-line.
“Changed-Answer Keeper,” she named the new role;
Not judge, not winner—just room for the whole.

Call: “What does windmill path look like now?”
Alice: “A bend.” Callen: “A wheel.” Aralynn: “A bough.”
Lillian: “And space for a later reply.”
The stamp floated still under ribbon-lit sky.

No one walked to the path. No answer shut tight.
The blank pad held three changed marks in the light.
The final picture showed a role newly begun:
Lillian kept room for the next-changing one.
