The Weather Drew “Still”
The willow root gallery stayed hidden away;
At little-library step, three friends planned the day.
The hinged stamp flashed gold through one sunny seam.
“Fast route!” said Aralynn. “First test what we see.”
At moss-log stage, the stamp opened wide.
One half caught sunlight; one half rested in shade.
Slow: Kaydence traced where the dew marks lay.
Fast: Aralynn stamped one bright mark by the way.
The sunny mark sparkled; the shaded mark stayed plain.
The cloud ribbon shifted after the five-minute rain.
“Choose our stop word,” Aralynn asked Haylee nearby.
Haylee raised one palm and said, “Still.” No need to say why.
Slow: Still while the cloud makes the bright mark move.
Fast: One quick test—then still to check the groove.
Kaydence saw dew-dark dots curving back toward the step.
The weather changed the pattern the stamp had kept.
Sun opened a gap; shade softened the shine.
Dew held each stamp mark as a small dark sign.
Slow: Aralynn followed one curve with her eyes.
Fast: Haylee pointed once—then still stopped the try.
They returned to little-library step by the altered bend.
No one visited the hidden willow root gallery.
