The Space We Save
Lex stayed on quilt lawn, where the dew made silver squares.
Brandon waited barefoot by butterfly station.
Zylar stood beyond blueberry trellis.
Only the folding kindness stamp traveled between them.
Open, close. Lex opened the first fold.
A stamped blue curve appeared, but not a whole letter.
Lex closed it gently and sent the stamp onward.
One clue had moved; Lex had not.
Near, far. Brandon drew the stamp near.
“Stamp Captain?” Lex called across the space.
Brandon shook his head. “Not that role.”
Then he moved the stamp far enough to reveal a blank fold.
“I’ll be Open-Space Keeper,” Brandon said.
He kept the blank fold visible instead of filling it.
The unfinished place did not mean the work had failed.
It promised one more word-part for another day.
High, low. Zylar lifted the final fold high,
then lowered it until a gold line met Lex’s blue curve.
The shape still would not read while one person held it.
So the stamp traveled back into three separate parts.
Lex held the blue curve at quilt lawn.
Brandon held the open blank beside butterfly station.
Zylar held the gold line beyond blueberry trellis.
Hold—do not close.
Across the three viewpoints, the edges aligned.
The blue curve, open space, and gold line read YOU.
No single holder owned the whole message.
Tomorrow’s blank fold stayed open beneath Brandon’s thumb.
