as four friends chose four downward ways.
Brandon, Kaydence, Aleea, and Haylee
met at mud kitchen after the sprinkle.

One windowed breathing pinwheel waited.

Kaydence carried a curved clue.

Aleea carried one round dot.
Haylee carried one open center.

Brandon traced the square in air.
Kaydence curved one finger low.
Aleea touched the dot to damp clay.
Haylee held both palms open.

The chant reached its brightest turn,
but Haylee lifted one quiet hand.
They stopped before the exciting part
and let the cloud ribbons move the light.

Brandon held the frame, not the answers.
Kaydence lined the curve with its window.
Aleea set the dot beneath the opening.
Haylee left the center clear.

The four shadows joined on damp clay.
Letters sharpened where the light came through:
LISTEN OUTSIDE.
No single clue could make the message.

They followed the pinwheel to windmill path.
Brandon heard leaves brush the rail.
Kaydence heard one loose slat give a soft tok.
Aleea heard one dew drop touch a broad leaf.

Haylee heard open air hold the spaces.
