the reed sent a gentle hum.
Aralynn tapped one wooden edge;

the smallest answer came: click.

Click was small but clear.
Three unlike materials made three places,
with one open place still near.
The dial carried one extra silver disk.
At first it looked like decoration.

No one named the newcomer.
