The Basket Voted Clear
The orchard press began as a hidden place,
while frog pond rim held two wet ways.
Austin steadied one bell-tipped basket;
Aleea watched the cloudlight change.
“Bright?” asked Austin.
The silver bell tip flashed toward the near path.
“Clear?” asked Aleea.
The plain woven handle framed the shaded curve.
The sprinkle brightened one puddled strip.
A cloud ribbon dimmed the sparkling point.
The handle stayed plain and readable;
weather offered one more clue.
Austin pointed toward the bright route.
Aleea pointed toward the clear curve.
Then Austin tested the wet edge,
and changed his point to the curve.
Two silent points became their vote.
No voice had to win the choice.
“Useful?” asked Aleea.
Austin nodded at the steady woven handle.
The altered route curved around the damp patch
and returned them to willow root gallery.
The bell tip gave one soft ting;
the cloudlight opened a building space.
Three separate picture pieces waited:
one square, one roof-shape, one glow-dot.
Austin placed the square base.
Aleea set the roof-shape above it.
Aleea showed the open center.
Austin placed the glow-dot inside.
The lantern picture stayed flat and unlit—
three useful pieces, clearly joined.
No sparkle chose the safer way alone.
No weather clue stood alone.
The vote, the curve, and the steady handle
