Child-facing question: Can four friends draw and erase a route, compare shade and sunlight, and use a fallen branch to measure a way around one resting chrysalis? Dominant anchor: Forward / back, shade / sun, draw / erase, high / low. Cast: Brandon Rabbit begins the forward trace, later holds the upper measuring cord, and is barefoot by default. Callen Crow erases the passed steps, carries the windowed puzzle, and remains clothed and anthropomorphic. Aralynn Fox compares the shade and sunlight clues and later checks the lower route edge. Zylar notices the chrysalis, names the need for clearance, and confirms the undisturbed result. The Branch Measured a Way Around
Pumpkin corner stayed hidden
while frog pond rim held the frame.
Brandon stepped forward through sunlight.
Aralynn stepped back through shade.
Their feet drew marks in dampened dust.
Callen swept each passed mark clear.
Forward / back, draw / erase,
the route appeared, then disappeared.
The window showed the same bent line
in two different ways:
bright in sun, dark under leaves,
high by light, low in shade.
Zylar watched one sheltered leaf.
Beneath it, one chrysalis stayed still.
A low fallen branch crossed the return
near the edge of the hill.
“High or low?” the puzzle asked.
“Over or under?” came the play.
Brandon stretched one cord above the branch.
Aralynn checked the ground below.
The obstacle became the measuring tool.
Its height marked the safer bend.
Callen erased the old footpath.
No false trail remained behind them.
They reversed toward moss-log stage,
keeping clear of leaf and branch.
Sun became shade; forward became back;
the altered route held room.
At moss-log stage, the puzzle closed.
No footprints stayed beside the land.
Zylar pointed once, then lowered a hand:
the chrysalis remained undisturbed.
