Irreversible Turn

The four decide not to restore the missing beginning.
The one-note opening line ends for good.

From off-scene, an audience hums the same note—
then bends it upward at the open branch.

The audience becomes the final verse.
The group does not sing the opening line again.

Overhead Reveal

From barn loft pulley, Spencer sees the whole temporary route:
dark damp turns, pale breaks, and one open branch.
From ground level, it looks like scattered marks.
Only the elevated view joins them.

Closing Lines

Lillian: The route may change when another answer arrives.
