Austin sets the second smooth leaf beside it.
Aydin places one springy loop last and says, “That one feels like a hop.”

Sorting Round Two — Brave

Austin chooses one nubby star. “This feels brave to me.”
Aydin chooses the other star. “Mine feels more like a sneeze in a sweater.”
Kaydence laughs, then sets both stars in the middle.

Austin: “Not for the sound. A tug could pull the route off line.”
Kaydence: “But your tug idea can test whether the sail is steady.”

They wrap the bell tip in one felt loop so it cannot ring.
Austin braces the map frame. Kaydence watches the low sunflower tie.
Aydin gives the corner one gentle test tug.
The tie catches the map edge before it moves far.

Austin leads wide and slow. Kaydence counts the clear spaces with her fingers.
Aydin carries the quiet bell tip away from the low tie.
Wiggle—pause—wide step—wait; the altered route turns toward quilt lawn.

Return — Moving Shadow Picture

They return to quilt lawn; the tall panels still hide ribbon meadow.
Warm overcast light breaks through one bright patch behind them.
Austin holds the map sail upright. Kaydence holds the lower corner steady.
Aydin slowly turns the felt tip, keeping clear of the map’s edge.

The six cutout spaces and six felt shapes drift across the quilt squares:
two leaves become quiet wings, two stars become blinking eyes,
two loops become hopping feet—and then another picture takes their place.
The shadow moves because Aydin turns the tip, not because the still air blows.
